Company History

The Paragon routing and scheduling product was first launched back in 1980 by PA Consulting Group, fulfilling a niche need in the transportation industry. By 1987 we had grown to become the UK’s leading supplier of routing and scheduling optimization software. Following a management buyout from PA Consulting in 1991 Paragon Software Systems was born - and we haven’t looked back since.

In 2002 we officially opened the doors of our US office, located in Frisco TX. From here we have grown and developed our presence in the North American market winning fantastic clients along the way. We’re proud to count big US brands – such as Martin-Brower, Reyes, DHL and Linde – as well as smaller family run companies – such as Hagopian and Weatherford Farms – amongst our customer list.

2014 saw another major development in Paragon-history with the opening of our Chinese office, in Shanghai. This step forward has been well received by our clients across the world, and our software solutions are already catching the attention of many local-based Chinese distribution companies.

Looking to the future we remain committed to the core values that have made us successful thus far – namely hiring talented people who are dedicated to taking care of our customers and developing great software products.

Experience

In the last 30 years the transportation industry has changed beyond recognition. Distribution operations and road networks are more complex than ever before; customer expectations have increased; the retail industry has boomed; and technology has advanced significantly. Here at Paragon we have continued to move with the times, enhancing our core route optimization algorithms and introducing new products that are designed to meet the real needs of today’s transportation operators. Our commitment to sensible product evolution and staff retention has enabled us to stay at the forefront of this dynamic industry. It has also seen our business grow, both within the UK and overseas, and as a result we now have over 3,300 systems in use in more than 50 countries around the world.

Many of our existing customers have been working with us for over 30 years, justifying our decision to be more than just a software supplier for our clients. Our client list features leading names from the retail, home delivery, food service, manufacturing and 3PL sectors. In addition we have many smaller, family-run operators who invest in and benefit from the routing and scheduling solutions that we have to offer. We are very proud of our client achievements and work hard to maintain good client relations.

Once you have decided to purchase a Paragon system, you will find we are very determined to make sure that your use of our software is as beneficial as possible for your operations. Our support team, who have 200 man-years of Paragon experience between them, take users through the implementation and set up processes, from calibration through to parallel running and go live. Once your routing and scheduling system is live you have the back-up of our experienced Hotline team who are on hand to help with any issues you may have. We’re very proud of the support we offer our customers and it’s something that differentiates us from other suppliers.
